Mardalsfossen - Photo by Ottis

Mardalsfossen is a two step waterfall with the tremendous height of 705m, making them Northern Europe's highest waterfall. The falls are now part of a hydroelectric dam so you can only see them from June 20 to August 20 when the the floodgates are opened. The hike to the falls is about. 2 km, and it takes 45 minutes to walk the trail up there. You can go right up to the waterfall, but it's wet and rushing there, so be careful with your camera gear.
