Lac de l'Eychauda - Photo by Bruno Jargot
This milky blue glacial lake is fed by meltwater from the Séguret Foran glacier, which overlooks it. It only thaws 3 to 4 months - it is not uncommon to see blocks of ice floating , sometimes even, until the end of July. Sitting at an altitude of 2514 m can make this hike tricky for inexperienced hikers. (Pelvoux, France)
