Hackberry General Store - Carol Highsmith

A kitschy General Store along Route 66 that has the nickname of "Mother Lode of Mother Road Memorabilia." Having an abandoned appearance, the Hackberry General Store is decorated almost as a set piece to a different time. All sorts of retro signs and quirky memorabilia decorate the exterior of the gas station. Pegasus pumps, rusted Model A's and a stunningly well preserved '57 corvette all serve as set pieces in a perfectly orchestrated testament to a long-forgotten earlier time. Photographers will delight in shooting the Hackberry General Store from every angle, and reliving a time long forgotten from the American zeitgeist. (Kingsman, Arizona, USA)
