Cape Palliser Lighthouse - Photo by Michal Klajban

Cape Palliser Lighthouse is a cast iron lighthouse that has been standing above the steel cliffs since 1897 and it's still shining strong. The steep climb (253 steps!) is rewarded with sweeping views over the surrounding bay. The Cape is also home to the North Island's largest fur seal colony. If you're here November to January you might just spot some pups. (Cape Palliser, Wellington, New Zealand)
