Geroldsee (Gerold, Germany)

This shot took our breath away when it came in last week. So simple, understated and beautiful. Julian really knocked it out of the park with this one. Geroldsee is a tiny lake in the Alps surrounded by rolling hills that are dotted with amazing alpine cabins. This area is especially photogenic in the early morning hours when there is morning mist rolling through the valley, pairing perfectly with the lush forests all around. (Gerold, Germany)

New Brunswick Countryside (Howard Brook, Nova Scotia, Canada)

The forested countryside of central New Brunswick is a photographer’s heaven in fall as shown in this lovely shot from Aaron Smith.  The lush trees along this stretch of backroad are beautiful as they slowly start to change colour in the fall and as the wildflowers begin to bloom in the spring. Al Bastakiya (Dubai, United Arab Emirates)

We’ve had the pleasure of visiting the United Arab Emirates, so it’s always a delight when @ig_mn shares pics from this part of the world. It brings us back to the desert sands of this fascinating part of the middle east. Sharing a departure from the usual stunning architecture and cityscapes of UAE, @ig_mn goes old school and shares an Al Bastakiya district shot. Al Bastakiya is a unique historic district that dates back to the 1890s. In its prime, the locality was filled with 60 housing units, separated by narrow, winding lanes. This area is an amazing contrast to the modern glass and steel towers that dominate Dubai’s skyline. Clean lines and sandy beiges characterize the wind-tower architecture that houses several galleries, cafés, and museums. (Dubai – United Arab Emirates)

Skootamatta River  (Tweed, Ontario, Canada)

Fall colours are in bloom and nothing says fall like a shot of a river’s edge in Ontario. With leaves of every hue, Dan shares a stunning waterfront spot perfect for shooting the tapestry of colours that appear this time of year. This is Skootamatta River, a little rest stop along Highway 7, just north of Tweed, that has a peaceful view looking out over the Skootamatta River. This location is always beautiful in the fall as the leaves begin to change colour. (Tweed, Ontario, Canada)
