About Anglesey Barracks
Anglesey Barracks are two rows of 11 houses that now sit abandoned but were originally to accommodate quarry workers that came from Anglesey Island each week, leaving home early on a Monday morning and returned on Saturday afternoon. The barracks were used until 1948 when an unannounced visit by the local Public Health Inspector saw the barracks condemned as unfit for human habitation. (Llanberis, Wales)
