About Baldwin's Arcade

Baldwin's Arcade is a histoic gem that dates back to the 1880s, making it the oldest commercial building in Steele County. It's home to the Steele County Museum. The building features classic old west architecture with its narrow clapboard siding that stretchesr up the front to a tall, squared top. The front faces south onto Steele Avenue, so it takes direct sun for most of the day. It sits on Hope's quiet main street so you can back up to capture the whole front with a standard lens to keep the vertical lines straight. From the corner at 3rd Street, an angled view shows the full length of the building running back from the avenue, which adds depth to that tall front. The museum is only open through the summer months. It's a cute spot so it's worth taking a bit of time to wander around the rest of town. (Hope, North Dakota, United States)
