About Banzai Cliff
A beautiful and tragic photo location where, after the battle of Saipan, hundred of Japanese soldiers jumped off the cliffs into the sea and rocks below to avoid capture by the American forces. Not far away a cliff named Suicide Cliff was used similarly in World War II.
