Beaufort Castle Ruins
Beaufort Castle is a medieval castle dating back to the 11th century when is began as a small square-shaped fortress on a large rock protected by a moat. Over the years it was enlarged as it changed hands numerous times in its colourful history. After its last owner in 1781 vanished, the castle was abandoned, fell into disrepair and by the beginning of the 19th century it was being used as a quarry. Today portions of the castle have been restored for guided tours. When you are done shooting the castle ruins we recommend tasting some of the black currant liqueur made on site.
