California Plaza
California Plaza is a striking civic and commercial complex in Bunker Hill, where two angular glass towers rise above a broad public plaza with fountains, terraced walkways, and clean modernist lines throughout. The geometry here rewards architectural photography: try shooting upward from the base of either tower to compress the facades against the sky, or position yourself at mid-plaza level to capture both towers together with the water court features in the foreground. Wide-angle lenses work well for dramatic upward perspectives, while a longer focal length lets you isolate the reflective glass patterns and geometric details. Midday light can be harsh but creates strong shadows that emphasize the building's angles; overcast days give you even tones across the glass. The plaza is open and flat, making it easy to move around and experiment with framing. Early mornings are quieter with softer light and far fewer people in your shots.
