About Cape Bear Lighthouse and Marconi Museum
The tower is 12.2 m (40 ft) tall and was built in 1881. A Marconi Wireless Telegraph Station, was built adjacent to the lighthouse at its original site in 1906. On April 14,1912 it received the first distress signal in Canada from the sinking Titanic.
