Cascada Bigăr, nestled in the Anina Mountains near the village of Poneasca, is one of Romania’s most photogenic natural wonders. The waterfall is famed for its unique flow over a dome-shaped moss-covered cliff, creating a delicate vertical curtain of water that appears almost surreal. Though the original rock formation partially collapsed in 2021, the site remains visually captivating, with flowing water and lush surroundings still drawing photographers. Located within the Cheile Nerei–Beușnița National Park, it is easily accessible via a short walk from the roadside along the DN57B. Early morning or late afternoon light enhances the waterfall’s textures and vibrant greenery. (Poneasca, Caraș-Severin County, Romania)
