Castle Hill Lighthouse is a lovely stout lighthouse that looks over Narragansett Bay at the end of the historic Ocean Drive. The lighthouse was built in the 1800s and serves ship traffic bound for Newport or Providence via the East Passage. Castle Hill Lighthouse is white with a black top which adds some nice contrast to pictures of it. The shorter design of the lighthouse has a  textured stone appearance, making it one of the more unique lighthouses to photograph. Accessing it is relatively easy, with several trails leading to it. Like many lighthouses, it is best photographed at sunset or when the sky is full of dramatic clouds. The lighthouse has been active since its completion in the 1800s. (Newport, Rhode Island, USA)
