About Cathedral-Basilica of St. John the Baptist
The architecture was inspired by Romanesque churches of Italy. Excavation started in 1838, construction in 1841 and its consecration in 1855. There are 28 large and 35 smaller stained glass windows. The ceiling is exceptionally ornate. (St.John's, Newfoundland)
