The Cathedral of Pavia, officially known as the Duomo di Santo Stefano e Santa Maria Assunta, dominates the historic center of Pavia with its vast scale and Renaissance design. Begun in the 15th century, the cathedral is crowned by one of the largest domes in Italy, rising prominently above the surrounding rooftops. Its grand façade, detailed stonework, and balanced proportions make it a strong subject for architectural photography, while the spacious interior offers symmetry, soft light, and impressive vaulted ceilings. The cathedral is easily reached on foot from anywhere in central Pavia, and early morning or late afternoon light works best for exterior shots. (Pavia, Lombardy, Italy)
