Congress Avenue Bridge (The Bat Bridge)
In the evening hours, people line the Congress Avenue Bridge to see huge cauldrons of bats emerge from their resting spots beneath the Bridge. The bridge is situated next to the Statesman Bat Observation Center and is home to thousands of small winged animals. Hot and dry weather in the months of April-June and Aug-September can result in large emergencies. As many as five columns of bats can be seen anywhere from 2-45 minutes before sunset.
