Tucked just off Swiss Meadows Boulevard in Blue Mountains township, this open countryside field offers sweeping rural views across rolling farmland with the Niagara Escarpment as a backdrop. The wide, unobstructed horizon makes it well suited for expansive landscape compositions, and the lush green fields reward you with rich, saturated colour in the warm months. Shoot in the hour before sunset when the low angle light rakes across the field and brings out texture in the grass; a circular polarizer is highly recommended here to cut glare and deepen those greens. A wide angle lens in the 16 to 24mm range works best for capturing the full sweep of the scene, though a mid-range zoom lets you isolate the escarpment in the distance.
