Devetashka Cave is one of Bulgaria's most dramatic natural spaces, a vast limestone cavern with multiple ceiling openings that pour columns of natural light down into the dark interior, creating an almost cinematic atmosphere that rewards wide-angle shooting. Position yourself beneath one of the large skylights and shoot upward to capture the contrast between the illuminated rock and the dark cave walls, or use the stream on the cave floor as a foreground element leading deeper into the chamber. Midday light works surprisingly well here, as the sun is high enough to send shafts directly through the ceiling holes, though overcast days keep the exterior exposure balanced with the cave interior. A wide-angle lens in the 16 to 24mm range suits the scale of the space; bring a tripod since the interior is dim away from the light columns. Note that in June and July access is restricted to the central pavilion due to bat breeding season. (Devetaki, Lovech Province, Bulgaria)
