Digranes Lighthouse stands on a small rocky islet at the edge of Bakkafjörður, connected to the mainland by a narrow gravel path that doubles as one of the best compositional tools on the walk out. The lighthouse itself is a compact, weathered concrete structure that photographs well against dramatic skies, especially when storm clouds are rolling in off the North Atlantic. Shoot from the causeway path using it as a leading line toward the tower, or circle the islet to find angles with the open fjord and cliffs framing the background. The surrounding coastline offers strong foreground interest with exposed rock, kelp, and tidal pools. Golden hour light in summer lingers for hours this far north, giving you warm side-lighting well into the evening. A wide-angle lens in the 16-24mm range works best here. The path is walkable but uneven, so sturdy footwear helps. (Bakkafjörður, Northeastern Region, Iceland)
