Dockey Wood is a beautiful stretch of forest on the edge of the Ashridge Estate, that transforms each year into a sea of bluebells for a few weeks each spring. The flowers themselves are a protected species, so if you do visit the woods, be sure to stick to the footpaths. The peak bloom is usually around the first week in May, depending on the weather - you can track the blooming here www.nationaltrust.org.uk/ashridge-estate/features/bluebell-watch-at-ashridge.
