Doolin is a peaceful village sits on the Clare coast, where the Aille River comes down and meets the Atlantic. Fisher Street sits at the end of the village that is the end nearest the water and is home to a short run of brightly coloured pubs and shops behind low stone walls. Down at the pier you get the working side of it, with ferries loading for the Aran Islands. Crab Island lies just offshore, bare except for the ruins of an early 1800s constabulary post. The whole coastline faces west, so evenings and sunset are incredible with the sun dropping directly into the open Atlantic. The village is overflowing with photogenic views as you slowly explore all the narrow streets and waterfront views. You can park at either the pier or in the village and easily walk between the clusters of buildings. Ideally plan to stay for the entire evening and then enjoy a meal at one of the quaint pubs you just finished photographing. (Doolin, County Clare, Ireland)
