About Douglas Falls
The North Fork Blackwater River drops over a ledge creating the spectacular 35-foot Douglas Falls. The falls splash down into a unique emerald-colored pool surrounded by lush forest, creating a landscape unlike any other. During times when the river flow is extra heavy, the mist sprays off the falls. This secluded, little-known lagoon is a photographer's paradise. This location is especially photogenic in the autumn as the leaves begin to change colour. (Thomas, West Virginia, USA)
