Spanning the Mohawk River this fully functional covered bridge is fully enclosed and painted white. The original Earnest Covered Bridge was built in 1903, and then replaced after it fell into disrepair in 1938. The bridge was featured in the 1960's civil war era Jimmy Stewart movie "Shenandoah" when it was modified to match the period. After filming the production refurbished it with new siding and paint, afterward. In 1979 the bridge was added to the National Register of Historic Places.(Marcola, Oregon)
