About East Jesus
Founded by the late Charlie Russell, East Jesus is an art installation and refuge for eclectic artists in the middle of the desert. The name is actually a reference to it being somewhat in the middle nowhere. The sculpture garden is open to visitors, but a review of the website before visiting is recommended (http://eastjesus.org/). The residents and maintainers have a number of guidelines and rules they would like visitors to follow. (Slab City, California)
