Engabreen is a glacier arm of Svartisen that stretches down to almost sea level, making it one of Norway’s most accessible glaciers. The imposing ice is a white mass with an almost baby-blue sheen. Surrounded by white mountaintops and fertile hillsides, the glacier is reflected in the opaque green meltwater of the Holandsfjord. You can shoot the glacier from Svartisen Gård where you have great views of the glacier looking out across Svartisvannet. Then you can get even closer to the glacier arm by hiking roughly 3km along the gravel road and then a rocky trail. The trail is well-marked taking you to the main viewpoint that has superb views of the glacier from a close range. (Svartisen Gård, Norway)
