About Fairy Bridges

The Fairy Bridges are natural sea arches carved into the coastal rock by years of Atlantic wave action. This stretch of coastline has long been part of local folklore, with the nearby Wishing Chair said to grant wishes to those who sit in it. The site sits just outside Bundoran along the coast, with easy access from a nearby parking area and a short walk to the viewing points. The arches, cliffs, and crashing waves create a rugged setting, with multiple angles along the headland offering different perspectives of the formations. Changing tides and weather conditions can significantly alter the scene, from calmer seas to more dramatic wave action. Early morning or late afternoon light helps bring out texture in the rock and adds depth to the coastal views. (Bundoran, County Donegal, Ireland)
