Fidra Lighthouse
Perched on the rocky island of Fidra in the Firth of Forth, the Fidra Lighthouse is an iconic structure that has withstood the test of time and elements since the 19th century. Its white tower contrasts beautifully against the often tumultuous skies and deep blue waters surrounding it, providing photographers with an incredible subject to frame. The island itself is believed to have inspired Robert Louis Stevenson's famous novel "Treasure Island", adding a layer of literary intrigue to this picturesque locale. The best way to photograph the lighthouse is from the mainland on a clear day when the light illuminates the tower, or during a storm when dramatic clouds roll in, emphasizing its steadfast presence amidst the roaring seas.
