Fish Dam Battle Ground
Monument that marks the Fish Dam Battle Ground (along the Broad River); where on November 9th, 1780 (yes, the date on the stone is wrong), Gen. Sumter and Maj. Wemyss fought. Hidden deep underneath both names says "Won by Americans." The Col. William Farr Memorial Bridge was built in 2007 (replacing an older, narrow bridge), so it's a safe bet this marker was moved from its original location to this more obvious and safe location along the highway.
