Gare du Palais
Gare du Palais is one of Canada's most striking railway stations, a château-style building completed in 1915 with turrets, copper roofing, and ornate stonework that makes it look more like a castle than a transit hub. The exterior façade is the main draw, best photographed from the plaza in front where you can capture the full symmetry of the building; a wide-angle lens in the 16-35mm range works well here to take in the towers and arched entrance together. Early morning gives you soft, even light with fewer people in the frame, while golden hour adds warm tones to the pale stone. Step back toward the fountain plaza for a classic full-building shot, or move in close to isolate the carved details and ironwork around the entrance. Inside, the vaulted waiting hall offers strong architectural lines and diffused natural light worth exploring. (Quebec City, Quebec, Canada)
