Gorham Covered Bridge
Gorham Covered Bridge is one of Vermont's oldest surviving covered bridges, built in 1841 and spanning Otter Creek in a quiet rural stretch of Pittsford. The weathered wooden structure, framed by trees and reflected in the slow-moving creek below, gives you classic New England covered bridge compositions that reward patience and careful framing. Shoot from the creek bank to capture the full span with its reflection, or position yourself inside the tunnel for a natural frame looking out toward the surrounding foliage. Fall foliage season transforms this spot dramatically, with warm oranges and reds wrapping the bridge, while overcast days keep contrast manageable and bring out the texture of the aged wood. A wide to standard zoom in the 24-50mm range covers most angles well. Parking is close by, and nearby trails let you scout the creek from multiple vantage points upstream and downstream.
