About Grand Canyon Skywalk
The Grand Canyon Skywalk is a horseshoe-shaped glass-floored bridge that extends 70 feet out over a sheer cliff edge, putting you literally above a 4,000-foot drop into the canyon below. The structure itself is the main subject here, and shooting from the rim looking back at the walkway with visitors on it gives you a strong sense of scale and drama. You can frame the glass platform against the layered canyon walls and the Colorado River far below, or get low near the transparent floor to emphasize the void beneath. Morning light works well before crowds build up, giving you softer shadows across the canyon walls. Note that the Skywalk requires a paid entry through the Hualapai Nation and personal cameras are not permitted on the walkway itself, so your shots will come from the surrounding viewing area and rim.
