Grandhotel Giessbach, Brienz
Grandhotel Giessbach is a historic hotel above Lake Brienz, originally opened in the 19th century to welcome alpine tourists arriving by boat. It sits on a hillside surrounded by forest, with the Giessbach Falls cascading down the cliffs right beside it, creating a really unique setting. The combination of the grand building, layered waterfalls, and lake views gives you a lot to work with in one place. There are also paths that let you get closer to the waterfalls, including one that passes behind them for a different angle. Soft light in the morning or evening works best, especially when the lake and mountains start to pick up some colour.
