About Granite Links Golf Club
The Granite Links Golf Club is a 27-hole course spread across a hilltop in Quincy, just south of downtown Boston. It was built on a series of old granite quarries that were capped and shaped with dirt dug out of Boston's Big Dig tunnels. The hilltop is wide open, so the whole Boston skyline stretches out to the north above their green fairways. This is a great spot to experiment with using your long lens to bring all the downtown towers in close or your wider lenses will let you play with using the curves of the course as leading lines toward the city. Boston Harbor spreads out to the east, and the Blue Hills fill the view to the west, giving you photogenic views in every direction. Since the city sits to the north, the sunset lights up the west side of the towers. Make sure to plan on staying into blue hour as the lights come on across the skyline. You can drive right up the hill to the clubhouse and park at the top, and the car park has an amazing view on its own without having to enter to golf course grounds. The Tavern restaurant and the outdoor patio bar are both open to the public, with big windows and open seating facing the city. If you want to capture the views from around the course itself you will have to book a round of golf and pay the course fees. (Quincy, Massachusetts, United States)
