This section of the Great Wall is an amazing mix of historic and restored sections of the wall, all paired with stunning views over the countyside. The tours that come here will drop you off at one gate and pick up at the next one approximately 7km away. Wear hiking boots because there will be literally thousands of stairs between those two points. As a bonus this section of the Great Wall tends to be quieter than the more popular/touristy sections so you will have clearer shooting views. The best time to visit is in spring or autumn. In the early mornings of spring and summer you can see a remarkable view, known as a 'cloud sea', below you from the Wall. But it's very hot on the Great Wall in summer. (Luanping County, China)
