Halifax Island is a small rocky island about 300 ft from the offshore, near Lüderitz. It is the third most important breeding site for African penguins in Namibia. The island is also home to as abandoned Guano mining station dating back to 1895. The uninhabited buildings are now used by penguins for breeding. The island itself is out of bounds for the public but can be viewed by catamaran tours from Lüderitz. (Lüderitz, Namibia)
