Hang Sơn Đoòng

Nestled deep within the Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park in Vietnam, Hang Sơn Đoòng is one of the world's largest natural caves. Discovered only in 2009, this cave complex is so large that some of its chambers could house a 40-story skyscraper or a commercial passenger plane. An internal weather system, distinctive limestone formations, colossal caverns, and numerous rivers contribute to its dynamic landscape. The cave even houses unique subterranean jungles where sunlight filters through collapsed ceilings, supporting lush greenery and creating dramatic scenes for photographers. With such rich and varied natural features, Hang Sơn Đoòng presents unparalleled opportunities for adventurous photographers. However, to safeguard its fragile ecosystem and majestic structure, access to the cave is strictly regulated. Only 800 permits are issued annually, and a visit necessitates joining a guided tour.
