Holy Trinity Church
Holy Trinity Church in Stratford-upon-Avon is a beautiful medieval parish church best known as the burial site of William Shakespeare, set along a peaceful stretch of the River Avon lined with weeping willows and swans. The riverside approach along the tree-lined path is one of the best compositions you can find here, with the church tower rising above the canopy as a natural focal point. A telephoto lens works well to compress the trees and architecture together, while a wide angle suits the full riverbank scene with reflections in calm water. Early morning light is ideal, when mist sometimes drifts off the river and the crowds have not yet arrived. You can also shoot from the opposite bank for a broader reflection shot. The church is generally open to visitors during the day, and the surrounding churchyard offers quieter close-up opportunities among old gravestones.
