About Hopewell Furnace
Hopewell Furnace, located along Yellow Creek east of the Lake Hamilton Dam in Poland Township. Built in 1802, it was the first blast furnace west of the Appalachians and the first industrial operation in the Western Reserve. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as an archaeological site. -from Wikipedia
