Hug Point

Hug Point - Photo by Liquid Crash1 / 1

A lovely beach area with geologic outcrops. The story behind this points name is interesting. Prior to the construction of a highway along the coastline, the easiest way to travel up and down the coast was by stagecoach along the beaches. Depending on the tide, this method of travel meant that you would have to hug very closely to the rocks at areas like this. Hence the name, Hug Point. (Arch Cape, Oregon, USA)
