About Île Vierge lighthouse
The Île Vierge lighthouse stands 271 ft, made of blocks of granite and the interior is lined with 12,500 opaline glass tiles. It is the tallest stone lighthouse in Europe, and the tallest "traditional lighthouse" in the world. The lighthouse sits on the tiny Île Vierge which is open to the public from April to September.
