Inspiration Point
Inspiration Point is a rocky outcrop perched above the Ottawa River near Foresters Falls, offering sweeping elevated views across the wide river valley and surrounding forest. The high vantage point lets you frame the river bending through the landscape below, and the exposed rock ledge gives you a natural foreground to anchor compositions. Try shooting wide to capture the full breadth of the valley, or use a longer focal length to compress the tree-covered hills across the water. Golden hour is particularly rewarding here, with warm light raking across the river surface and the forested banks, while overcast days bring out the richness of the greens in the surrounding woodland. The hike to reach the point is short and manageable, so you can arrive well before sunrise or stay through sunset without much effort. Bring a wide angle lens and a sturdy pair of shoes for the rocky terrain at the edge. (Foresters Falls, Ontario, Canada)
