Jamestown Windmill
The Jamestown Windmill stands peacefully atop Windmill Hill in the Windmill Hill Historic District of Jamestown. Originally built in 1787 and later restored, this wooden smock mill is one of the few remaining operational windmills in New England. Surrounded by open farmland, stone walls, and wide skies, the setting offers clean, simple compositions that highlight the structure’s shape and texture. The elevated hilltop location provides broad views across the island landscape, making it especially effective in soft morning or evening light. The site is easily accessible by road, with open grassy areas allowing for multiple shooting angles. (Jamestown, Rhode Island, United States)
