Jodrell Bank Observatory

The Lovell Telescope is a huge radio telescope at Jodrell Bank Observatory. The most striking feature of the Lovell Telescope is the huge white bowl that can be seen for many miles around. From the beginning, the telescope was designed to be fully steerable, so that it could be pointed to any part of the sky, right down to the horizon. Photography is allowed in the public areas of Jodrell Bank for personal use only. If you would like to request permission for any other type of photography or use, please contact the Discovery Centre. (Macclesfield, England)
