About Kho Ku So Bamboo Bridge

Kho Ku So Bamboo Bridge is a winding boardwalk that lets you venture out across the rice fields. It was originally built by the villagers in 2016 so monks and locals could cross the paddies instead of going the long way around in the rainy season. The walkway is bamboo on top, reinforced underneath with concrete and steel to balance making it solid underfoot while still looking traditional. The whole length of the bridge has amazing views in every direction. You will be surrounded by green paddies throughout the wet months. The view changes completely to rich gold tones if you come just before the harvest. At the far end the path continues on toward a temple area tucked away in the trees. Early morning and late afternoon are the best time to be here. That's when the light comes in low along the length of the bridge and mist often sits over the fields. Plus the Monks still walk it at dawn, remember to give them space and shoot quietly from a respectful distance. Early or late in the day also lets you avoid the busiest tourist hours along the bridge so you will have more time to experiment with finding just the right compositions.
