Kinuseo Falls drops 197 feet down a sheer rock face in the remote wilderness of Monkman Provincial Park, making it one of the tallest waterfalls in British Columbia and a genuinely impressive subject even by world standards. A well-maintained viewpoint at the base puts you close enough to feel the mist and fill your frame with the full height of the falls, while a higher vantage along the trail lets you compress the scene and show the surrounding canyon walls. Overcast days are ideal here, as the diffused light eliminates harsh shadows in the narrow gorge and keeps detail in both the white water and the dark rock face. A wide-angle lens works well from the base platform, but a mid-range zoom gives you flexibility on the upper trail. The access road from Tumbler Ridge is gravel and best suited to higher-clearance vehicles, and the falls flow strongest in late spring through early summer. (Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, Canada)
