Kråkenes Fyr is a striking red and white lighthouse perched on a narrow, wave-battered rock peninsula at the northwestern edge of Vågsøy, where the North Sea crashes in from all directions. The drama here comes from the geology as much as the structure itself: jagged black rocks, churning surf, and a lighthouse that looks genuinely exposed to the full force of the Atlantic. Shoot from low angles among the rocks to emphasize the raw foreground texture against the lighthouse, or step back on the approach path for a wider composition showing how isolated the structure really is. Stormy and overcast conditions often produce the most powerful images here, with moody skies and dynamic waves. A wide angle lens in the 16 to 24mm range works well. You can stay overnight in the lighthouse itself, which opens up opportunities for long exposures, star photography, and catching the golden hours without the rush. (Kråkenes, Vestland, Norway)
