About Lagagarbh Cottage
Lagagarbh Cottage is an incredible stop the car moment as you drive along the A82 in Glencoe Valley. Its bright white walls stand out against the brown heather and grey rock from a long way off. This cottage is photogenic that you can find amazing compositions from almost every angle and in just about any weather, so everytime you find yourself driving by it's worth stopping. Mist, snow and low cloud all change the look, and the tiny cottage lets you highlight just how big the mountain really is. From the along the road you're looking south at the mountain, so at midday its face sits in shadow. Early morning and evening bring side light that really highlight the details of the mountain as it sits looking down on the cottage. There is a pull out and parking area along the A82 so you will have lots of space to experiment with shooting angles and various compositions. There is a dirt road leading to the hut so you can venture closer, you can go all the way to the river and experiment with using the water or the footbridge as foreground. The hut is private and kept locked for climbing club members, so make sure to stay on the public roads or pathways. It's the kind of spot you will want to come back to shoot over and over.
