About Lago delle Baste
Lago delle Baste is a small high-altitude lake lying on the Mondeval plateau with stunning views of the surrounding area. On still days this pond is the perfect reflecting pool for the surrounding mountains. The pond is reached by following a beautiful little beaten path, easily accessible near Passo Giau. The hike to the pond is roughly 1.5 hours and can be quite busy during tourist seasons. The water levels are quite weather dependant so the pond maybe quite small if it hasn't rained in awhile.
