Lammerklamm
The Lammerklamm demonstrates the imposing power of nature. The narrow valley was carved out by glaciers during the Ice Age (approximately 15,000 to 30,000 years ago), while the masses of water released by the melting ice left behind a narrow gorge flanked by steep cliffs. Carved by the rushing waters of the Lammer River, the gorge features towering rock walls, narrow passages, and vibrant turquoise rapids that create dramatic compositions for both landscape and nature photography. The wooden walkways and bridges that wind through the gorge provide photographers with multiple vantage points to capture the dynamic flow of water, steep cliffs, and the interplay of light filtering through the narrow canyon. Best photographed during early morning or late afternoon, when the light enhances the textures and colors of the rocks and water, Lammerklamm is especially captivating after rainfall, when the river swells and cascades over the rugged terrain. Easily accessible by a short hike, this location is ideal for capturing the untamed beauty of Austria's alpine landscapes. (Salzburg, Austria)
