This massive street art installation stretches 190 meters along a wall in the port district of Rio, painted by renowned Brazilian muralist Eduardo Kobra to mark the 2016 Olympics. The mural depicts indigenous faces from five continents in Kobra's signature kaleidoscopic style, with bold geometric patterns radiating in black, green, blue, red, and gold. To capture the full scale, step back as far as the street allows and use a wide-angle lens, around 16-24mm, to fit the entire piece in frame. Shooting in sections also works well, isolating individual portraits for tighter, more graphic compositions. Overcast days are ideal since direct sun creates harsh shadows and blown-out highlights on the bright colors; early morning on a cloudy day gives you even light and fewer pedestrians. The wall runs along Avenida Rodrigues Alves, easily reachable from the Gamboa area, and the wide sidewalk gives you room to back up comfortably. (Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
